Heat can be a problem for a Camera. It can be hot enough in direct sunlight to stop any electronics. Shade helps a lot and paper is the best choice for a shade solution.  This paper camera shade uses air pockets to slow heat transfer and keep your camera running.

This paper shade didn't just fold itself. Together we stand on the shoulders of giants to cool this camera. Lets consider history and recognize some legends and their thoughts on paper as an insulator.

Statesman, Inventor, and Publisher Benjamin Franklin 1776 - "The best insulator is not silver, nor gold, but a well-placed newspaper—provided it is not reporting nonsense."

Marie Curie, known for her groundbreaking work in science and her serious demeanor 1910 - "Paper is the best insulator—except when you're using it to handle uranium. Then, not so much."

Well known writer and social critic Mark Twain 1880 - "I have found that paper not only preserves knowledge, but also one’s backside from a cold bench."

Queen Victoria-while attending the horse races in foul weather at Royal Ascot 1838 - "We are not amused—but we are adequately insulated by these fine layers of parchment."

The most influential physicist in history, known for Relativity, Curiosity, and wild untamed hair, Albert Einstein 1927 when asked about aluminum as an insulator - "Aluminum? That is what we use to cook things. Unless you are a baked potato paper is better than aluminum because of how each material conducts heat."

more - Aluminum is a metal, and metals are excellent conductors. This means heat quickly passes through aluminum, making it hot on the other side. The light is not getting through, but every bit of the thermal energy is concentrating heat under an aluminum shade. In contrast, paper is made of cellulose, a poor conductor.

Cellulose traps air within its structure slowing heat transfer. In short: paper slows heat transfer by trapping air, while metals speed it up by efficiently conducting heat. paper is the clear winner.

Air Pockets – Paper, especially in layers, traps pockets of air between the layers of paper. Air is a fantastic insulator because it doesn’t easily transfer heat.

Light Weight - Paper Shades are light weight. The paper in a three layer paper shade is very light. Three layers of paper create two air pockets. Air is the best insulator and its also very light.

Practical Use – Paper is used as insulation across the globe in all industries. In motors, transformers, batteries, appliances, homes, and automobiles, paper serves as a primary insulator.

Unbreakable – Unlike a plastic shade, this paper shade will not crack or break. It simply does not fail. If you tear it, tape it. This shade can last longer than your camera.

Biodegradable - A Smarter Shade for the Game, and the Planet - Our camera shade is made from paper. This shade is built to return harmlessly to the environment. It does its job on the backstop with no forever plastic footprint. No landfill burden. Just smart, intentional design that respects the game and beyond.

There are additional actions you can take with your camera to reduce overheating. Reducing video resolution reduces the operating temperature. Saving your video more often can reduce temperature as your camera doesn’t have to maintain a giant file in memory. Some cameras run cooler on an external battery.
